Rumors about the Apple iPhone 14 have begun to gain momentum. The new iPhone series is expected to be unveiled this September. This year we can expect four new 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone models. Yes, rumor has it that there will be no 5.4-inch mini iPhone. Instead, Apple will release the iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display.
Much about future iPhone models has already been leaked online. Earlier this year, MySmartPrice uploaded exclusive CAD renders of the iPhone 14. Since then, some more details about Apple’s flagship smartphone have been leaked. The latest one comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who shared some details about the 2022 iPhone’s front camera. Let’s take a look at the specs, features, and other details of the iPhone 14 we know so far.
iPhone 14 Series Front Camera Information
Apple is said to be upgrading the front camera of the iPhone 14 this year. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will add autofocus to the front camera of its upcoming iPhone. Adding autofocus to the front camera, as the name suggests, will help you focus better on your subject during FaceTime video calls. Ideally, this should also help the front camera focus better when taking selfies in normal or portrait mode.
The analyst also stated that the front camera of the upcoming Series 14 will have a wider aperture compared to the current generation models. iPhone 13 has an f/2.2 front camera. Future iPhone models in 2022 are expected to feature an f/1.9 front-facing camera. A wider aperture can result in better low-light performance and shallower depth of field. Apple may also introduce new features that can take advantage of new updates.
In the past, the company hasn’t bothered much with the front-facing camera on its iPhone models. We can expect the 14 series to feature an improved 12MP front camera. The Pro models are rumored to get a 48MP main camera sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP telephoto lens. Non-professional models will still have a 12-megapixel dual camera.
All four iPhone models will feature OLED displays. iPhone 14 and 14 Pro will feature a 6.1-inch display. The 14 Max and 14 Pro Max will feature a 6.7-inch display. Both Pro models will ship with a 120Hz ProMotion display. The notch on the Pro models is also reportedly replaced with a hole punch and a pill-shaped cutout in the top center for Face ID sensors and a front-facing camera.
Rumor has it that Apple will release Pro models with the A16 chip. Non-professional models will most likely get either a rebranded A15 Bionic chip or a slightly improved version of it. We will share more details about the iPhone when it becomes available. In the meantime, share your thoughts on the leaked details in the comments below.
