iPhone 15 Pro to get gray and blue color options; no gold colour this year

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 series in September as usual. While most of the specifications have already been leaked by rumors. One important detail about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max has surfaced today.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple will replace the gold and purple color options that Apple currently offers in iPhone 14 Pro models with grey and blue hues this year. It is known by now that Apple will offer upcoming Pro iPhones in Titanium finishes instead of the stainless steel frame offered until now.

This will be a major point of difference between standard iPhone 15 models and Pro models. As Apple is widening the gap between Pro and non-pro models, Titanium frame will not only make Pro iPhone models more durable, and visually shiny but it will also make them lightweight.

Apple ditching gold option

As far as colors are concerned, this will be the first time since 2018 that Apple will not offer a gold color option in its Pro iPhones. The company started the gold hue option in iPhone Pro models after the release of the iPhone XS in 2018.

9to5Mac reports that iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in space black, silver gray color options, in addition to other colors. The reason why Apple is offering iPhones in grey color is that it will complement the new Titanium finish.

It is rumored that Apple will use “Titan gray” as the marketing name for the cooler option.

Dark Blue to be the special color

Previously, it was rumored that crimson would be the special color option that will replace the purple offered in iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. However, now 9to5Mac believes that the crimson option will not be available this year. Instead, Apple will offer a dark blue color for its Pro models this year.

For the non-Pro iPhones, the publication has predicted that there will be five color options in the iPhone 15 series – black, green, blue, yellow, and pink. In addition to these colors, Apple will introduce a new option later in spring as it did for the iPhone 14 series by announcing the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in yellow.

It has been rumored that Apple is planning to host an event on September 13 this year to announce new iPhones. While no official announcement has been made regarding the dates of the event, it is expected that Apple will send invites between August 29 and September 5.
