The Sony PS5 has been added to over 15,000 devices on which BBC iPlayer is already available.
Neil Hall, BBC iPlayer Product Manager, comments on the arrival of VOD service on PS5: “New users will be able to watch all the best BBC shows, including Showtrial, the new thrilling drama from the directors of Vigil and Stephen Merchant’s hit new comedy The Outlaws, starring Christopher Walken. They’ll also love the full Doctor Who set – the Doctor Who Feeding special ends on Sunday and can get back to the outdoors with Sir David Attenborough’s The Marriage Game available on SP5 Ultra HD with breathtaking images if their TV supports UHD. ”
BBC iPlayer, originally available for free in the UK, now requires a license of £150 a year as a TV license fee. To make sure this has been properly verified, the BBC is driving vans equipped with Wi-Fi receiving equipment around the UK to test private networks and analyze data packets.
