More Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones will go on sale next week in China. The Xiaomi 12 series is due to debut on December 28th, while the Realme GT 2 Pro is set to debut on January 4th. Another smartphone company that will soon launch its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship smartphone is iQOO. The company is expected to launch its premium smartphones in China in February or March 2022. Leading up to the official launch, key specs have begun to surface online. The latest comes from Digital Chat Station, which listed the specs of iQOO 9. The iQOO 9 series is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2022. The company is likely to release two new devices: iQOO 9 and 9 Pro. Ahead of the official launch date confirmation, DCS has unveiled the iQOO 9 specs. It is noted (via GizmoChina) that the iQOO premium smartphone will feature a Samsung-made 6.78-inch AMOLED E5 display. It will have Full HD+ resolution. While no details of the Pro model have been revealed, it is expected to feature a 2K display like the iQOO 8 Pro.
In addition, the vanilla iQOO 9 will ship with a 4650mAh battery under the hood. It will support 120W fast charging out of the box. As for the camera, the vanilla model will have OIS support with a micro gimbal. It will also feature a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 main camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor size.
The Pro model will have a 4,700mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. Both devices will ship with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor under the hood. They will also likely have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. More information will appear in the coming days.
