On Thursday, Apple released the first feature updates to iWork Suite in months: Pages, Keynote, and Numbers 12.0.
In macOS, a significant change is support for shortcuts, Apple’s automation tool. For example, Pages now has the “Open Document”and “Create Document”actions. Numbers offers the same but adds an “Add row at the top or bottom of the table”action. As for Keynote, you can also open and create with the presentation app, but you can also specify to open a presentation in rehearsal mode or show mode.
Other changes in macOS include new VoiceOver capabilities in Numbers and Pages, the ability to post larger files (up to 2GB) to Apple Books from Pages, and the ability to “copy a snapshot of table cells without formulas, categories, or hidden values.”in numbers.
On iOS, Pages gets the ability to post larger files and new VoiceOver features, as well as the ability to insert page numbers anywhere and start a new document with a long press on the iPhone home screen.
Numbers now lets you zoom in on slides up to the 400 percent zoom level, and Keynote is getting the VoiceOver and Snapshot improvements mentioned above for its macOS counterpart.
Finally, all three iOS apps allow you to enter the font size to two decimal places for greater precision.
All updated apps are available in the Apple App Store.
