Since many people use the zoom feature to fill on YouTube, excessive zoom options can be not only distracting, but also annoying. It’s easy to zoom in by leaving content cut right in the middle of trying to watch a video and making zoom changes to fill.
Simply installing the jailbreak tweak DisableYTVideoZoom disables this feature completely, preventing you from getting frustrated by over-zooming videos that play on the official YouTube app. It also saves you the hassle of fine-tuning the scale to fit the display after overscaling.
DisableYTVideoZoom does not have any options to configure, and its source code is published on GitHub for anyone who wants to know more about what’s going on under the hood.
Those who want to try DisableYTVideoZoom for themselves can get it for free from the BigBoss repository through their favorite package management app. The tweak supports jailbroken devices with the latest version of the YouTube app, which is 18.12.2 at the time of this writing. Be aware that any future update to the YouTube app could potentially break the setting, requiring it to be updated.
