Jailbreak news of the week: Dopamine jailbreak updated, How to sideload Misaka, & more…

Your friends at iDB are always covering the latest topics in jailbreaking, which is the primary reason why we make weekly roundups just like this one.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

We understand that people get busy during the work week, so if you’re kicking back this weekend and wondering what you might’ve missed, then you’ve come to the right place.

This roundup will discuss the latest jailbreak tweak releases, MacDirtyCow & KFD exploit hacks, and pwnage news spanning the week of Monday, September 11th through Sunday, September 17th.

Important stuff from this week

Dopamine v1.1.6 released

The Dopamine jailbreak tool for arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 was updated to version 1.1.6 on Sunday with no other changes besides bundling the latest versions of the Sileo and Zebra package manager apps.

The project’s lead developer, Lars Fröder, said that this update would have absolutely new impact on the jailbreak’s reliability or stability, adding that the bundled Sileo and Zebra updates merely serve the purpose of improving the user experience for new jailbreak adopters who can now skip the step of updating the package manager apps themselves post-jailbreak.

How to sideload Misaka

The iDB team shows you how to sideload the Misaka package manager app onto MacDirtyCow & kfd exploit-vulnerable devices with the Sideloadly application for macOS and Windows.

Misaka lets you install add-ons that can customize MacDirtyCow or kfd-vulnerable devices with or without a jailbreak.

Pulsar Control Center UI

Pulsar Control Center UI.

With the Pulsar Control Center UI add-on for Control Center, you can have even better glyph aesthetics that make the interface come alive.

Pulsar Control Center UI is intended for the MacDirtyCow & kfd exploits for iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 and 16.0-16.6 beta 1 respectively, and as such, doesn’t require a jailbreak to use.

iOS & iPadOS 16.6 unsigned

iOS 16 firmware downgrade

Apple made the decision this past week to stop signing iOS & iPadOS 16.6, a move that effectively prevents downgrades from the newer iOS & iPadOS 16.6.1 firmware and prevents anyone on older firmware from updating to the iOS & iPadOS 16.6 firmware without the DelayOTA method.

You can learn more about the ramifications of this change in our full news post.

Cluckabunga v1.2.2 released

Cluckabunga header.

The Cluckabunga all-in-one UI customization toolkit for devices susceptible to the kfd exploit — namely arm64e devices running iOS & iPadOS 16.0-16.6 beta 1, was updated to version 1.2.2 this weekend.

This update was primarily a small bug fix and improvement update and didn’t include anything by way of new features.
