Important stuff from this week
iOS & iPadOS 17 released
Apple officially released iOS & iPadOS 17 this past week after a multi-month beta testing period.
We’ve compiled a post and YouTube video highlighting some of the top new features in this update, so be sure to check them out. Please also note that there is no jailbreak for iOS & iPadOS 17 currently.

Update: Apple also released iOS & iPadOS 17.0.1 for most models, and iOS 17.0.2 for iPhone 15 & 15 Pro models a few days later with security fixes.
RootHide jailbreak detection bypass released
The long-awaited RootHide jailbreak detection bypass software for rootless jailbreaks such as Dopamine has officially been released.
With RootHide, you can choose apps that you want to prevent from finding out you’re jailbroken so that you can continue using those apps even on your jailbroken device when they’re designed not to.

Update: The first update to RootHide in the form of version 1.0.2 was released to address some apps still detecting jailbreaks.
AltStore & AltServer v1.7 released
AltStore and AltServer each received major updates this past week with support for iOS & iPadOS 17 and Apple’s upcoming macOS Sonoma operating system for the Mac.
In addition, the software received improved support for AltJIT, which allows users to take advantage of just-in-time compiling of apps for elevated performance.

Taurine gets iOS 14.4-14.8.1 support
The popular Taurine iOS 14-based jailbreak tool has received official support for iOS & iPadOS 14.4-14.8.1 following a one-month beta period.
This includes support for both arm64 and arm64e devices, ensuring wide compatibility.

Update: A second update released a few days later addressed an issue with jailbreaking A11 devices running iOS & iPadOS 14.0-14.4.
Update 2: CoolStar said that an issue affecting CarPlay connections on iOS 14.5-14.8.1 devices was unlikely to be fixed. Learn why in our full news post.
Update 3: Taurine v1.1.7-3 was released to fix kfd regression present in the previous v1.1.7-2 release.
Dopamine (hopefully) fixes spinlock panics
The Dopamine jailbreak tool for arm64e (A12-A15) devices received an update this past week to version 1.1.7 to address spinlock panic issues that have plagued many users.
Version 1.1.7 was the vehicle to bring these updates to end users, and while it seems to work for some instances of spinlock panics, the lead developer claims that it will not work for all instances.

Dawnbreaker
Dawnbreaker is a new add-on for MacDirtyCow & kfd exploit-vulnerable devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 and 16.0-16.6 beta 1 that lets you get the new iOS & iPadOS 17 ringtones on your device.

HEPTA Theme
HEPTA Theme is a beautiful new theme for jailbroken iPhones and iPads running iOS & iPadOS 7-16.
With a wide variety of app icons for native and third-party apps (600 to be precise), a bunch of custom icons for the Settings app, and custom notification badges and wallpapers, this theme feels complete.

JoyPixels Emoji Font
If you’re sick and tired of the same Emoji appearance that you’ve been looking at your years, then you might find relief by using the new JoyPixels Emoji font.
Compatible with MacDirtyCow and kfd exploit-vulnerable devices, JoyPixels doesn’t require a jailbreak to use and makes any conversation livelier.

ColorBoard
You can use the ColorBoard add-on for MacDirtyCow & kfd exploit-vulnerable devices to effectively colorize anything you want with respect to iPhone and iPad user interfaces.
This add-on doesn’t require a jailbreak, but has almost as many options as you’d expect from a premium jailbreak tweak.

Cluckabunga v2.2 released
The Cluckabunga all-in-one system customization app for kfd exploit-vulnerable devices was updated to version 2.2 this past week.
The latest update adds features for customizing the Status Bar and makes it easier to reset passcode keys after making changes to them.
