The Junji Ito Horror Universe will arrive on the Netflix streaming platform in 2023.
Scheduled for release next year, the first season of the Netflix anime Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre will feature adaptations of classic stories from Japanese manga artist Junji Ito such as Tomie, The Hanging Balloons and Souichi no Tanoshii Nikki. Please note that Mangetsu editions will soon offer all these titles in Molière’s paper version.
In total, twenty stories about Junji Ito will appear in the first season. The Horror Manga Master clarifies to fans that they have not yet decided which stories of Tommy and Soichi will be specially adapted, but will share more details on that later. The production team and animation studio are unfortunately kept under wraps for now.
