How to play Minecraft with split screen on PS4 and PS5

To be honest, enabling split screen in Minecraft is a lot easier on the PlayStation. To do this, simply start the game as usual and connect another control to the console. Next, you will receive a prompt on the screen. Your friend will then need to sign in with a valid PlayStation account. If they don’t have an account, they can also play as a guest. After that, the screen will split in half, allowing you to enjoy the game with a friend. A maximum of 4 players can play split screen at the same time.

How to play Minecraft in split screen on Xbox

The steps to play Minecraft split screen on Xbox are the same as those on PlayStation. All you have to do is connect another Xbox controller after starting the game. Now press the hint button once more so that your friend joins the party successfully. Like on PS, 4 players can also be added to play Minecraft Splitscreen on Xbox.

How to play Minecraft with split screen on Nintendo Switch

To enjoy split screen on Nintendo Switch, each player must have their own Joy-Con controller. Start by loading your world into Minecraft and then plug in your Joy-Con controller. Now press the hint button on the screen to join the split screen adventure. Unfortunately, only 3 players can play Minecraft split screen at the same time on Nintendo Switch.

How to play Minecraft with split screen on PC

The split-screen version of Minecraft is only available for consoles, not for PC. However, you can use mods/tools like Nucleus Co-op or Forge to play split screen. Although we do not promote modding in any way, so do so at your own risk.

That’s pretty much all you can do to play Minecraft with split screen enabled on consoles and desktop. While you’re here, be sure to check out our other Minecraft guides.
