Redbox has many features that will make your entertainment simple, affordable and convenient. You can choose from a variety of movies to buy and own forever.

Even though it provides a smooth browsing experience for the users, sometimes Redbox keeps on buffering or freezing and this is definitely an annoyance for all users.

This is a common problem that many users are facing, and if you are also facing the same issue, this guide will help you know how to fix Redbox stuck issue easily.

Fixing Redbox Keeps Buffering or Hanging

Sometimes the application is under maintenance or the server crashes. Understandably, users are facing issues while streaming video. In this case, waiting for a while would be the best option.

However, if you are constantly facing this problem, then you need to follow the methods I have shared below to solve it quickly.

Check Your Internet

The main reason for buffering is internet speed. You need stable and good internet to stream any video without any problem.

So, the first thing you need to do is to check if your internet is enough.

You can do this by opening a web browser and searching for “test internet speed”. Run a speed test and see if it’s good enough.

If it doesn’t, restart your router or contact your ISP to increase the speed for seamless video streaming on Redbox.

Update your device

If you are using older firmware, you may encounter many issues including video buffering and slow internet speed. Therefore, you’d better check for the latest version and update to this one.

If you don’t know how to do it on your iPhone or Android, follow these steps:

On iPhone:

  • First, open Settings on your device.
  • Then click General.
  • After that, click “Software Update”.
  • Then allow automatic updates and download pending updates.
  • Don’t forget to restart your device after the installation is complete.

On Android:

  • First, you need to go to settings on your android device.
  • Then scroll down until you find System.
  • After that, find and click “System Update”.
  • Check if any new update is available; if there is something new, download and install on your device.
  • After the above steps, reboot your device for the changes to take effect.

Update your Redbox app/browser

It’s also possible that the current version of Redbox you’re using has some bugs and is showing some issues, including an issue with continuous buffering. So, you should update your Redbox app to the latest version to fix all the issues and enjoy some of the new features.

If you don’t know how to do this, follow these steps:

On iPhone:

  • First, open the App Store on your device.
  • You will see a profile icon on your screen; click it.
  • Scroll down to see all pending updates and look for Redbox there.
  • Click the Update button and wait for the update to complete.

On Android:

  • First, you need to open the Play Store on your Android device.
  • Then click on your profile photo in the top right corner.
  • After that, go to the “App and device management”section.
  • Find the Redbox app there and click the Update button next to it.
  • Wait for the update to complete and restart your device so that it works with the new version without problems.

If you are using Redbox in a web browser instead of an app, you should also update to the latest version.

The web browser update process is almost the same for all browsers and I have shared the steps below assuming you are using Chrome browser.

  • First, open Chrome and click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
  • Then move the cursor to Help.
  • After that, click “About Google Chrome”.
  • It will automatically check for new updates and if a new version is available, it will download it.
  • After completing the above step, close the Chrome browser and restart your computer so that it works correctly with the changes.

Clear Redbox App Cache

A buffering issue in the Redbox app may be cached on your device. So clearing the cache will not be a bad option for you.

The steps vary depending on your device; I have shared the steps for everyone that you can follow based on your needs.
