Grounded is an exploratory survival game in which players are reduced to the size of an ant and offer a unique experience similar to the 90s movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. The game that was in early access is now fully released so you can immerse yourself in the world of bugs, insects and arachnids of all kinds. In the pursuit of survival in your backyard garden, you must find shelter, hunt for food, and gather all sorts of resources. One such resource is pond moss, which is seemingly hard to come by. Pond Moss is used to craft exclusive and rare items such as the Sour Staff and is used in high tier armor in the game. So, in this guide, we will show you how to find pond moss in Grounded.
How to get pond moss in Grounded
Now, to find pond moss, as the name suggests, you need to head to the backyard pond. In particular, you need to go to the ring-shaped pond next to the pagoda in the east of the map. A lot of pond moss grows at the bottom of this dirty pond.

However, here’s the tricky part: the only tool you can use to collect pond moss is the widow’s dagger. The spider fang required to craft this dagger is one of the hardest items in the game, making it an extremely rare tool. It is also the only tier 3 dagger, which is the main requirement to collect this moss. Simply put, you need to fight the Black Widow spider, one of the most fearsome mobs in the game, to get its spider fang to craft the Widow’s Dagger.
Now, just defeating the Black Widow and getting the dagger isn’t the end of all your troubles, as you might have to run into a couple of other mobs on your way to find Pond Moss. The area of the Ring Pond is teeming with water fleas and diving spiders. Fighting these mobs is also not easy, as they deal significant damage.
That’s all you need to know about finding pond moss in Grounded.
