- First, press Win + R to open the Windows RUN window and search for msinfo32.

- Click on the hpqflash folder.
- Next, run a file similar to SP73917_E. The name of your file can be changed, but the E will remain.
- Make sure you don’t have a USB connected right now.
- Then click “Create Bootable USB Drive on Key”. Back up data to USB when “Insert USB to format”message appears and click OK.
- Then you must click “Yes”to format the USB.
- Now select FAT32 in the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool from the drop-down context menu of the file system.
- Then click the Start button and if you ask for confirmation, confirm your action and close all applications.
- After that, connect the USB to the system to the HP laptop.
- Now press the ESC button to access the startup menu and click on Boot Device Options.

- Next, run a file similar to SP73917_E. The name of your file can be changed, but the E will remain.
- Then click Initiate a BIOS update on this system.
