Becky’s Bride is the first boss you fight in Dead Island 2 and you can easily defeat her. Some players may find her intimidating because she doesn’t look like the zombies you’ve encountered so far. And when you manage to make some progress in the battle, new zombies will join her to help her. So, here are all her moves and how to counter them.
How to beat bride Becky in Dead Island 2
You must use long range weapons to attack Becky in this game. Becky is a very muscular zombie, so her attacks are stronger than regular zombies. She also has more health than them and of course her attacks hit harder. During the fight, she uses the following techniques:
- Hits: Becky will chase you and hit you. They are quite slow and easy to dodge. Just move away from them and try to hit her from behind. Or use something like a Rake to attack her. If you get hit by her, you can lose about 1/5 of your health.
- Ground Slam: She will jump up and slam her fists on the ground. This attack unleashes a shockwave that not only damages your health, but also knocks you down. The good thing is that it also knocks down any approaching zombies, so you can use this technique to your advantage. Just jump before her fists hit the ground. You can even dash towards her and hit her a few times after she finishes smashing the ground.
The above two moves are mostly used throughout the fight. Once you reduce her health by 25%, other zombies will start joining the fight. And after you reduce her health by 50%, she will start using ground slam twice in a row.
After you defeat her, you will unlock the Dash Strike ability.
Tips for this fight
- Use weapons with longer reach: Such weapons are good because you can attack her while avoiding her hits easily. It won’t make a big difference, but it will still give you some edge in combat.
- Don’t waste your first aid kits: you automatically regenerate your health slowly. So if you can save a medkit for better use or run around while you heal if you don’t have medkit.
- Take care of the zombies in time: as Becky’s health declines. New zombies will join the fight. If you find them overwhelming. Then run around and kill them first before fighting Becky again.
