One of the three Champion Urbosa song challenges in Zelda BOTW is to defeat Molduking. Defeating him is required to unlock the Keive Tala Temple. And to complicate matters, he is a stronger and better version of Molduga. But with these few tricks, you will quickly defeat him.
How to beat Molduking in Zelda BOTW

The best way to defeat Molduking is to use remote bombs to bring him up from the ground. You can then attack him with whatever strongest weapon you have. Ideally, try using a thunder weapon like the Great Thunder Blade or Thunder Spear, as it is weak to electric attacks. And of course, Shock Arrows are also good to use when Molduking is in the air.
- Start the fight by taking the high ground. There are several pillars in the desert that you can climb up.
- Next, equip the Remote Bomb Rune and throw the bomb away from you.
- Molduking tracks you by your movements. This way you can trick him into eating a remote bomb.
- As soon as he jumps out of the ground and eats the bomb, detonate it in his mouth.
- This will temporarily immobilize Molduking, and he will lie in the desert before returning underground.
- Now run towards him and spam all your attacks. You should also use Urbosa’s Fury to deal additional damage to him.
- When you see Molduking regaining consciousness, run back to your high ground.
- Now just repeat the above steps until you defeat Molduking.
A tip to speed up the process is to eat food that boosts your attack. This will allow you to deal more damage to him and end the fight faster. Also, take your time in this fight, because depending on your armor, Molduking can kill you with just one attack.
Now that Molduking is out of the way, you can enter the Shrine of Keive Tal and proceed to complete one of the Champion Urbosa’s song shrines.
