How to Connect Your PlayStation Network Account to Discord and Share What They Play

Earlier last year, PlayStation announced a partnership with Discord to integrate the PlayStation experience with Discord. It has just been announced that Discord will now gradually roll out the ability to link your PSN account to Discord and display PS4/PS5 game activity on your user profile.

Discord allows users to connect to various other services to display their activity on their profiles. Once users link their PSN account to Discord, the game they are playing on PS4/PS5 will show up as their activity.

Additionally, users can also display their PSN Online ID on their profile so that their Discord friends can add and join them. There have been rumors of some kind of PlayStation x Discord integration for a while, and that seems to be it.

How to connect your PlayStation Network account to Discord

To connect your PlayStation Network account to Discord, simply follow these steps:

  1. In Discord, go to User Settings.
  2. Select connections
  3. Select the newly added PS icon
  4. Sign in to your PSN account.

This will allow users to connect their PSN accounts to Discord. After that, several new options in Discord will be available to players: Display on Profile and Display PlayStation Network as Your Status.

Once these options are enabled, the game you are playing on PS4/PS5 will appear on your user profile. However, in order for the game to appear in Discord, both PSN Online Status and Now Playing must be set to Everyone.

This can be changed in the privacy settings on PlayStation Network. These settings can be accessed on PS4/PS5 in the Settings menu under Privacy.

This is likely the first of many similar services and features from the PlayStation Network designed for Discord. It will be interesting to see what else awaits PSN users in the future.
