Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is all about chrome, and it introduces a new throwable item called the Chrome Splash to help you get through walls. Let’s take a look at how to get Chrome Splash and use it to complete a mission or sneak up on an enemy and take them by surprise.
How to get Chrome Splash in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, there are no specific Chrome Splash spawn locations. To find this item, you need to explore and look for it in chests, Chrome Chests, on the ground, and almost anywhere on the map. Be sure to destroy the Chrome objects, get the Chrome Splash item as a blob, and press E on your keyboard to instantly pick it up.
How to use Chrome Splash on a structure and walk through it for 5 seconds in Fortnite
- Using Chrome Splash will allow you to quickly walk or go through a structure – all you have to do is drop an item on the ground and transform into the chrome variant first.
- Then, when you run, you also turn into a blob, so run and jump into the wall to create a portal-like chrome doorway for a limited time. You will then go through the wall structure and immediately find yourself on the other side.
- To sprint in Fortnite, press the left stick on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or left shift on PC.
- While you are a blob, you will be immune to fire damage, be able to dash through the air, and be much faster. So use that to your advantage and dash into the building element to chrome it and step through it.
What structures does it work on?
This will work for the different types of walls you can build in Fortnite, including wood, metal, stone, and brick walls, but it won’t work for tree trunks. So, unfortunately, it will not work to catch a player hiding behind a tree by surprise.
