How to get corrupted planets in No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky has introduced a new type of Corrupted Planet in the new Interceptor update. The main attraction of these planets is that you will be able to find new equipment and items that you cannot find on any other planet type. Let’s see how easy it is to find damaged planets in No Man’s Sky (NMS).

How to Find Damaged Planets Easily in No Man’s Sky

Finding an infected planet in No Man’s Sky is just as much a random number generator as finding any other type of planet. It’s also pretty rare, like Paradise Planets. However, there is one guaranteed way to find it, but it requires you to be already trained and equipped enough to take out a lot of Guardian forces. Let’s look at both conventional and complex, but guaranteed ways to search for damaged planets in NMS.

The usual way to find a damaged planet

So this method requires a lot of luck if you want to find it quickly, but you will eventually find it nonetheless. Here are the steps to this:

  • Take off into space in your ship and start scanning the planets around you.
  • Check for planets with higher Guardian presence, it’s likely they could be damaged.
  • Keep doing this and explore different systems until you find an infected planet.
  • You’ll know it’s corrupted if it has purple crystals on its surface and strange hostile robots all over the place.

Difficult but guaranteed way to find an infected planet

This means that you are either an experienced player who already has a lot of resources, or you are simply tired of trying your luck. Either way, this method will get you to the infected planet in No Man’s Sky towards the end.

  • First, find a planet with higher Guardian activity to make the next step easier.
  • Find Guardians on the planet and start fighting them. You need to get a wanted level on you.
  • At any time, after reaching at least 3 wanted levels, fly into space and continue to fight the Guardians in space.
  • Fight the Sentinels until you reach the maximum wanted level, at which point the Sentinal Capital Ship will spawn.
  • Fight the Sentials and destroy the Capital Ship, this will now get you out of wanted status, but will also point you to a planet in another system as a weird signal.
  • Go to that planet in that system and that planet will be a corrupted planet.

That’s all you need to know to find damaged planets in No Man’s Sky (NMS).
