1. Go on a quest
Each companion has friendship quests. These quests give you XP when completed. These XP will level up your companion faster.
2. Give your companion your favorite items
Gifting your companion your favorite items of the day is a great way to gain experience. You can only gift 3 favorite items each day. Not only favorite items increase your companion’s experience, but some items like flowers and gems also increase your companion’s experience. In particular, Flowers are very helpful in getting experiences that are easy to find.
3. Daily conversation
This trick also helps in gaining XP. When you interact with your companion, you will notice a suggestion in the option. Click on the offer to interact with your companion. At the end of the conversation, you will notice an increase in XP. Note that you can only have this conversation once per day. Compared to other ways to level up a companion, this method is slow.
4. Pastime
Once your companion reaches level 2, you can choose any role for your companion: mining, gathering, fishing, or digging. Once the roles are assigned, they cannot be changed until the end of the game.
