In multiplayer games and battle royale games, you need to have a lower ping level. For those who don’t know, higher ping is what causes your game to constantly lag. Consider Ping as a set of data that is sent from your device to the Fortnite servers and back. The lower the ping speed, the smoother the gameplay. You can hear many players complain about higher ping rates. So what can you do to get lower ping in Fortnite? Here’s everything you need to know about it.
How to reduce ping in Fortnite
Here is what you can do to get low ping in Fortnite for the best gaming experience.
Change region
Always make sure that the region you select in Fortnite has a lower ping. Here’s what you can do to change the matchmaking region in Fortnite:
- From the main menu, click the “Settings”icon.
- Next, select the “Games”tab and go to the “Language and Region”settings.
- From there, you can switch between different regions.
- In addition, you can also see the corresponding ping with the region.
- Make sure you select the region with the lowest ping for the best Fortnite experience.
Use Ethernet
Using Ethernet over a wireless connection is always beneficial. This is because the wireless Internet connection can always be interrupted. Whereas, Ethernet guarantees uninterrupted communication.
Update your network adapter
- Search for Device Manager in the search bar.
- There, go and double-click Network adapters.
- Also, right-click on the network adapter to update it.
Restart your router and device
If you are using Wi-Fi, you should turn off your router for at least 30 seconds. Also, I would recommend that you restart your device. After that, restart both of them and start Fortnite to get a lower ping in your gameplay.
