Sebastian Sallow’s quest line is one of the most interesting in the game. As you progress, you will go on a mission to infiltrate the Restricted Section of the Library. There, you will learn about his sister’s curse and his attempts to learn the dark arts to lift it. This results in you and him learning Unforgivable Spells.
During the quest “In the Shadow of Time”, Sebastian saves Anna from a goblin with the help of Imperio. Because it is an unforgivable curse, his uncle Rookwood disowns him and banishes him from his home.
As Sebastian’s story progresses, you will reach a mission called “In the Shadow of a Relic”. Here, Sebastian attempts to use the Dark Arts, which leads to Inferi’s rebellion. Once you defeat them, you will face Solomon Rookwood. This leads to a cutscene where Sebastian uses the Avada Kedavra to get rid of his uncle for good. This incident causes a rift between Sebastian and Ann.
Then it’s up to you to decide whether to take Sebastian or not. If you turn him in, then at the end of the game he will go to Azkaban prison. If not, he will stay at Hogwarts. Either way, Ann continues to live with the curse.
