Stellaris is a massive multiplayer grand strategy game that includes space conquest and diplomacy. Particularly with the “Federation”and “Nemesis”expansion, the game introduces various political structures and power dynamics such as the Galactic Senate, the Council, and the Imperium. In times of crisis, such as the Pangalactic War, Stellaris invites players to create galactic communities that provide two-way diplomatic relations between member empires so they can join forces and confront enemies on a united front. On occasion, the Galactic Senate may appoint the most powerful empire as the Galactic Guardian in order to manage a more focused approach to the Council’s overall operations. In this guide, we will discuss all the steps required in order to
How to get appointed as a galactic guardian in Stellaris
To become a Galactic Guardian, you first need to become one of the powerful members of the Galactic Council. Communities over the age of 20 may decide to “Form a Galactic Council”. The members of this council are elected by the members of the Community who have the greatest diplomatic weight.
Galactic Community
This is formed when an empire has established ties with at least 70% of other empires. You need at least 3 non-genocidal empires to form the Community Galactica. The empires that form it can have any Ethics or Civics except Consciousness Gestalt and Fanatic Purifiers. Once the Community Galactica is formed, an empire that wishes to join it can only do so with 100 Influence.
Galactic Council and Guardian
Now, in order to become one of the members of the Council and be chosen as the Galactic Guardian in Stellaris, you must be highly diplomatic and maintain good relations with other members. The Council has the power to adopt a number of high-level resolutions and play a key role in crisis management. To become head of the council, you must insist on the “Appoint Guardian”resolution. This will prompt the member empires to vote on who they want to be the Guardian. At this point, you can try to influence the votes either through diplomacy with friendly empires or through favor. It is important to remember that AI empires will vote for the majority candidate if the crisis level is high. Therefore, you should definitely pass the resolution when the time comes. Once you have been selected and become a Galactic Guardian, you gain access to a number of powers, such as freezing resolutions, ending a voting session after a break, and setting Galactic Focus without having to go to the Council. Your troops and ships can also freely pass through the empires of any member of the Senate.
That’s all you need to know about becoming a galactic guardian in Stellaris.
