We previously showed our readers how they can install TrollStore on a jailbroken iOS or iPadOS 14.0-14.8.1 device, but as we have repeatedly said in other posts, TrollStore also supports iOS 15.0-15.1.1 devices without jailbreak. The only question is, how can you install it on a non-jailbreak device? Well, we intend to show you in today’s tutorial.
What is TrollStore?
Before we get started, it’s important to explain what TrollStore is and isn’t.
TrollStore is essentially a permanent file signing utility. ipa. It uses an exploit in iOS and iPadOS to constantly download unpublished apps. So, unlike traditional methods of downloading unpublished apps like AltStore and Sideloady, which forced you to re-sign apps every seven days (for free Apple developer accounts) or 365 days (for paid Apple developer accounts), you don’t have to re-sign apps you install from TrollStore.
TrollStore can install almost any file. ipa, including modified apps and/or jailbreak apps. So if you want, you can use TrollStore to keep your Taurine or unc0ver jailbreak app permanently signed, and it should also work well with the upcoming Cheyote jailbreak app for iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1.
TrollStore itself is not a jailbreak. It’s just using an exploit in iOS and iPadOS 15.1.1 and older to do something useful. And we think you’ll love it, especially when you’re waiting for the iOS and iPadOS 15 jailbreak.
Installing TrollStore on iOS 15.0-15.1.1
To install TrollStore on an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1, you first need to download the TrollStore app. We’ll be using Sideloady for this process, but you can use AltStore if you like. Here are the steps for that:
1) Install Sideloady if you haven’t already. It can be downloaded for free at the following URL for both macOS and Windows:
2) Once installed, launch Sideloady:
3) Connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC with a Lightning cable.
4) Make sure Sideloady detects your iPhone or iPad and enter the Apple ID email associated with your free Apple Developer account:
Note. If Sideloady doesn’t see your iPhone or iPad, you may need to “trust”it from the device and from the Finder and/or iTunes.
5) If everything is ok, launch your web browser and go to the following URL:
6) Click on the TrollInstaller.ipa link and this will initiate the download of the downloadable TrollInstaller unpublished application:
7) Once downloaded, go to the Downloads folder and find the TrollInstaller. ipa:
8) Drag the file. ipa TrollInstaller to the empty IPA box in the Sideloady app and place it:
9) Click the Start button in the Sideload window:
10) When prompted, enter your Apple ID password, then click the blue OK button:
Note. Unpublished download will now start downloading TrollInstaller.
11) When done, Sideloady will display the word Done at the bottom, like so:
12) Grab your iPhone or iPad to find and launch the Settings app:
13) Go to General → VPN & Device Management and click on your Apple ID under the Developer App heading:
14) Click on the blue “Verify Application”button, then click on “Verify”again when prompted:
15) Once TrollInstaller has become trusted, return to the main screen.
16) Launch the TrollInstaller application.
17) Click the blue “Install”button at the bottom of the app:
Note. This process will use your device to install the TrollStore app. Wait until it’s over.
18) When TrollInstaller has completed its work, you can return to the main screen to find the TrollStore application:
And that’s all it takes! You have successfully installed TrollStore and now you can use it to permanently sign apps on your device even without jailbreak.
Conclusion
The ability to not only download apps to your device without being hacked, but also keep them permanently signed is a powerful feature that is only possible thanks to the exploit that TrollStore uses.
