Surviving a village battle in RE4 Remake is not as easy as it might seem. Although the game is somewhat generous in dropping enemies compared to the original game, they made this fight longer. And unlike the original game, you can’t hide in the Tower until the bell rings. So, here’s how to complete the Village Fight in Resident Evil 4 Remake and ring the church bells.
How to beat village brawl in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The best way to win or survive the village battle in RE4 Remake is to kill the enemies. Though the game doesn’t explicitly tell you how many Ganados you need to kill. But as soon as you kill about 15 of them, the battle in the village will end and the church bells will go off. This will force all the villagers to retreat and leave. On top of that, you can also survive the village battle without dying for 4-5 minutes.
This can be achieved mainly in two ways:
- Collect and kill enemies
- Avoiding fights
Collect and kill enemies
Killing enemies after collecting them is the best method. First, run through the village and grab everything you can. Especially grab the grenades. Shoot any enemy that is about to grab your leg to slow them down. Aiming for the head is fine if you have plenty of extra ammo or room to aim carefully. But for this method, you should avoid it.
Then, as you run, a large number of ganados may gather to chase you. Now just throw a grenade at them and see how many you can destroy. Collect loot from all the enemies you have killed. They can give you valuable resources like Handgun Ammo, PTAs, and more.
You can also lead them to the barn and shoot the lantern to set the barn on fire and kill all the enemies inside. These are the two best ways to win a village battle. The biggest advantage of this method is that you will save a lot of ammunition compared to if you only fought them head-on.
Just make sure you don’t get caught by the Chainsaw Man aka Doctor Salvador. He can kill you in one hit if he catches you. You could protect yourself once by using your knife. But the next time he gets to you, it’s almost certain death.
Avoiding fights
It’s entirely possible, but you should be aware that there’s a good chance you’ll still lose health in the process. There are many enemies who will try to grab you. Or enemies who throw an ax or other weapon at you. So if you’re not careful, you can easily get hit by them. And just running doesn’t mean you won’t fight at all. You will still need to shoot them in the legs to slow them down.
While this method is best for conserving ammo, you will still lose some of it in the process. Try to learn how to parry attacks, as this will be needed to reflect everything that is thrown at you. Or if some ganado suddenly ambush you and try to hit or attack you with their weapons.
You can even hide inside the house to protect yourself. The good news is that here you will get a shotgun as well as other useful loot. But the enemies will start pouring in and this time you will have to fight at least a few of them to get out of the house. You can even kick ladders to slow them down even more.
This method is also the longest, as you have to survive until the church bell rings. Although the good thing about this method is that you can safely explore the rest of the village after the Ganados leave to collect all the available loot.
That covers this guide on how to win or survive the village battle in Resident Evil 4 Remake and ring the church bells.
