First Nothing smartphone spotted at MWC 2022? The mystery still remains intact around this device.
The smartphone market today is relatively fixed. The various actors are well known, stocks don’t move as much anymore, there are only two operating systems. That being said, a new baby could be coming soon, it’s Nothing, a company created by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus. With the first smartphone to be seen at MWC 2022.
First Nothing smartphone spotted at MWC 2022?
According to rumors that appeared a few months ago, Nothing will not work on its own smartphone. For those who don’t know, Nothing is OnePlus co-founder Karl Pei’s latest company, founded after he left OnePlus. To date, Nothing has only released a pair of true wireless earbuds, but given Carl Pey’s experience with smartphones, a Nothing smartphone would make sense.
Today, thanks to a picture shared by insider Evan Blass on Twitter, we can see the same Carl Pey at MWC 2022 showcasing what looks like a Nothing smartphone. This would be in line with a previous report that suggested that the OnePlus co-founder was present at MWC 2022 and that he, among other things, introduced the phone to some industry executives, including Qualcomm’s CEO.
The mystery still remains around this device.
It’s impossible to know what this smartphone might look like with this single photo, which is also slightly blurry, but this shot at least reinforces the many that are already circulating on the subject. However, it remains possible that this is ultimately just an existing device and not the brand’s first smartphone. Nobody knows for sure.
In any case, there are rumors that next month we may get more details about this smartphone. If this information is correct, then we should know everything about the first Nothing smartphone very soon. To be continued!
