Casper, a brand new version reminiscent of a darker version of Riverdale, for the Peacock streaming platform is written and produced by Kai Yu Wu (Hannibal, The Flash) with DreamWorks Animation and Universal Content Productions. When a new family arrives in the small town of Eternal Falls, a ghost becomes embroiled in a mystery that reveals dark secrets buried over 100 years ago.
Return of Casper for 2023/2024
Casper was originally an amiable translucent ghost that appeared in the Famous Studios series of animated films released between 1945 and 1959. It was then that the character was acquired by Harvey Comics, which had been publishing Casper comics since 1952. number of comics, five animated series, Matty’s Funday Funnies, The New Casper Cartoon Show, Casper and the Angels, The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper, and Casper’s Scare School, and the live-action feature film Casper made by Universal Pictures in 1995. In 2001, Harvey Entertainment was acquired by Classic Media. In 2012, Classic Media was acquired by DreamWorks Animation, which in turn was acquired by NBCUniversal, the parent company of Universal Pictures, in 2016.
