Kawari: An upcoming App Store-like interface for TrollStore apps.

Palera1n team lead developer @itsnebulalol teased something exciting on Twitter early Monday morning that is sure to interest a lot of people whether they’ve jailbroken or not.

After posting an installer teaser on Twitter for what appears to be called Kawari with no real context other than that it can be installed one way for iPhone X and older and another way for iPhone XS and newer, some followers started wondering what it is. such. should have been, and the developer responded.

Apparently, Kawari is a planned project that will emulate an App Store-like user interface for TrollStore-compatible apps, but it won’t support all of the same firmware versions as TrollStore, which is worth noting right off the bat.

Indeed, while TrollStore supports iOS and iPadOS versions 14.0-15.4.1 (as well as beta versions 15.5 and 15.6, excluding the release candidate and public builds), Kawari appears to be limited to supporting iOS and iPadOS 15 versions., which means that iOS and iPadOS 14 will not be supported.

Clarifying this fact, @itsnebulalol said that the app will offer a user-friendly experience, likely hosting TrollStore-compatible developer apps and making it easy to install via TrollStore with one touch, rather than visiting a separate GitHub repo for each project – a major pain point with the point of view of keeping up with things.

There are no screenshots of what Kavari will look like yet, but we can’t wait to see it and we’re sure many of you feel the same way. In the end, TrollStore was a lifesaver given the slow development of a jailbreak for iOS and iPadOS 15.

Obviously, Kawari’s idea is not new. There have been other attempts to create larger centralized systems where developers could host permanently signed applications for TrollStore, but they either didn’t take off or didn’t host every possible application.

It remains to be seen if Kawari will take off, but given that it is being created by jailbreak developer Palera1n with a large following, it is likely that it could become more popular with users and developers alike.
