Kojima Productions announces Death Stranding 2 on PS5

Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux and Troy Baker will reprise their role in Death Stranding 2 alongside Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna.

When announcing Death Stranding 2, Hideo Kojima, founder and game director of Kojima Productions, said that he had already started writing the story of Death Stranding 2 before the pandemic, but when he had to experience something so similar to what the first game predicted, he quickly abandoned his work over the sequel and started over. If the continuation of the adventures of Samuel “Sam”Porter Bridges and Fragile seems vague for now, new information will appear during the next year.

A PS5 exclusive release date for Death Stranding 2 has not yet been announced.

For reference, the original Death Stranding game takes place in the near future when mysterious explosions rocked the planet, triggering a series of supernatural events known as Death Stranding. As ghostly creatures invade the landscape and the planet is on the brink of mass extinction, Sam’s mission is to traverse the devastated lands and save humanity by reuniting America’s abandoned cities.
