Subnautica is an open world exploration game set in the oceans of the alien planet 4546B. Naval bases are an underwater shelter that helps the character inhale oxygen when it runs out. However, Lifepod does not have all the necessary features needed to survive in the vast ocean. Naval bases are alternate habitats that can be built by unlocking blueprints. The Scan Room is one such Naval Base which is used to scan for resources within a range of 300 meters. However, to unlock the floor plan of the Scanner Room in Subnautica, you need to find three pieces of the Scanner Room Fragment. Here is our guide that provides the steps to find these snippets.
Where can I find scanner room fragments in Subnautica?
There are many fragments scattered in the ocean, but you only need three of them to unlock the blueprint. Check out these points to find out how to get to fragments:
- To find the scanner room fragments, head to the Aurora (a wrecked ship in Subnautica) and look for a coral pipe sticking out of the water.
- Next, stand on it and start moving in the direction between south and southeast.
- Keep swimming until you find scattered debris on the seabed. In addition, it can be 100 meters below sea level.
- Take out the scanner and start looking for fragments around the wreckage. There you can find your first Scanner Room Fragment.
- Then head in the direction between the west and southwest until you find another pile of debris.
- Use the scanner to find the second fragment of the Subnautica Scanner Room there.
- After that, return to the Coral Pipe and head northeast.
- About 460 meters from there, there is another scattered debris where you can find the third fragment of the scanner room.
- After collecting the three fragments, you will be notified that the Scan Room blueprint is now unlocked and ready to be assembled in Subnautica.
- After that, you can use the Habitat Builder to build a Scan Room and scan for nearby resources.
