Arrival is a young manufacturer that regularly makes headlines as its electric technology advances, be it vans, buses or batteries. Last May, the brand announced a new partnership with Uber to design and develop an electric rideshare-specific vehicle primarily targeted at European markets. Arrivals then explained that he invited Uber drivers to be part of the design process to make sure this Arrivals car was right for their needs. And today we get our first look at a fully functional Alpha prototype.
A city car built for commuting
Through a press release, Arrival shared all of this information with a nearly five-minute introductory video featuring two Uber drivers who were involved in development. The Arrival Car has twice the legroom of a car of the same size, according to the manufacturer, and was designed with high mileage in mind. Arrival claims that such a vehicle used by an Uber driver, for example, travels between 45 and 50,000 km per year, compared to “only”12,000 km for a “regular”vehicle.

Arrival plans to begin testing its vehicle soon and will take feedback into the design phase of Gamma to create the best vehicle for shared travel. To be continued!
