The launch date for Nothing Phone (1) is finally here after a lot of speculation and hype. Karl Pei’s venture Nothing has officially confirmed the launch date for its first smartphone. The Nothing (1) phone will be unveiled on July 12 at the Nothing: Return to Instinct event. The launch will take place live in London and will be streamed live on the company’s Nothing.tech website.
“This is our first smartphone and our most important product,” the company said.
Nothing claims that the launch is “an invitation to forget everything the industry has taught us.”
Nothing Phone (1): specifications rumors
So far, nothing has confirmed that the phone will feature a Snapdragon chipset. In addition, it will also feature a redesigned aluminum mid-frame and a transparent back panel, and will run Nothing OS based on Android 12 on top of it.
Rumors and speculation suggest that the device may debut with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Another leak has revealed that the phone will also feature a 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED display. An older report showed that the device could have an HDR10+ display and a 90Hz refresh rate.
In a tweet last week, the company hinted at its first phone. Of all the supposed features, the transparent back is the most anticipated and will be unique in the phone industry. Like Ear (1) TWS, Nothing Phone (1) is likely to revolutionize its segment. The company also emphasized in a tweet that the phone will not have a chin at the front or thin bezels around the display. This could give the Phone(1) an edge over its competitors in India, especially in the mid-range segment where the smartphone could appear in the country.
Nothing Phone (1): expected price
While no official announcements have been made as to which segment Nothing Phone (1) belongs to, let alone official pricing, the spec rumors give us an idea of where the company might place the smartphone. Given the SoC and display specs, this is a mid-range device. According to the German publication All Round PC, the phone could cost around 500 euros.
Speaking of the availability of the Nothing Phone (1), the company announced a long-term partnership with Flipkart. This means that we can expect the smartphone to be available through the online store. The Nothing (1) phone was also recently listed on Flipkart. In other countries such as the UK, Nothing Phone (1) is said to be available through O2 in the UK.
Please note that there is no official clarity regarding internal specs and pricing, so any rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
