The Razer Kishi V2 controller for iPhone is finally available

Razer is finally releasing the iPhone version of its Kishi V2 controller. Same price as Android version with many improvements for even more enjoyable gaming sessions.

The Razer Kishi 2nd Generation Smartphone Controller is now available for iPhone. Like its Android counterpart shown by props a few months ago, this controller is offered at the same price, namely 119.99 euros. And you can order it directly from the Razer website.

The biggest change from the first generation Kishi is the attachment mechanism on both sides to hold the assembly in place. Razer has ditched the flex connection and opted for a sturdier sliding version – very similar to what rival Backbone offers. This makes the Kishi V2 controller compatible with all the latest iPhones from the iPhone 6s as well as both generations of the iPhone SE. Also, if you remove the rubber inserts, you can save the protective shell before putting the controllers on.

In addition, Razer has changed the switches by replacing the V1 membranes with the same microswitches as the Wolverine V2 console controller. “This offers advantages in responsiveness, comfort and haptic feedback,” says Razer. There’s also now a Share button on the front and two additional programmable buttons next to the triggers.

Users can customize these buttons in the Razer Nexus app. You will also need to use this app to share your gaming sessions on YouTube or Facebook when you click the share button. In addition, you can find a list of compatible games in the application, which you can launch using a dedicated button on the controller.

Kishi V2 works with cloud gaming including Xbox Cloud Gaming and Google Stadia, console and PC remote play apps, and iPhone games that support MFi controllers. There’s also a Lightning port for pass-through charging, but unfortunately no 3.5mm jack.
