If there’s one thing that jailbreak tweak developers find incredibly helpful when end users report problems with their tweaks, it’s the crash log. Unfortunately, most people don’t bother to turn it on when they report issues, which makes it much harder for a developer to troubleshoot.
That’s why we always recommend having some kind of crash reporting app on a jailbroken iPhone, and FoxFortMobile’s new KrashKop app for iOS and iPadOS 15 and later provides a great way to fix issues you might want a developer to see.
According to FoxFortMobile, Apple changed the crash log format starting with iOS and iPadOS 15. Specifically, it now uses an extension. ips based on JSON. These files cannot be easily read on the device and instead need to be redirected to the Mac to be read in a console application.
Obviously this is not the best solution as previous versions of iOS made it easy to read the crash logs on the device. Luckily, KrashKop can open and read crash logs based on. ips on the device in an easy-to-read and understandable form. It also makes it easier to share these crash logs.
The developer also notes that because KrashKop doesn’t catch anything, it’s very lightweight in terms of system resources. In addition, it supports all the latest jailbreaks, including palera1n for iOS and iPadOS 15.x-16.x and XinaA15 for iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1.
If you are interested in installing the new KrashKop crash reporter on your jailbroken phone, you can download it for free from the Havoc repository through your favorite package management app.
