Welcome to another review of the apps of the week! We’ve got a great selection for you this week, including an amazing metronome, smart flash cards, and a text highlighter app. And, as always, we have chosen a new fun game for you.
Liminal metronome
For all you musicians out there, Liminal is a metronome app that’s both pleasing to the eye and packed with features. With it, you can create different types of measures and edit their properties (captions, BPM and accents), add multiple BPMs to one tempo track, and easily export/import tracks.
sparkcards
Need to learn a language? Study for an exam? Sparkcards can help. The flashcard app allows you to create and study flashcards offline anytime. Features include an advanced learning algorithm, paper card import, iCloud sync, and more. It’s pricey, but given the small number of quality flashcard apps out there, I figured it was worth a look.
Highlighted: Book Highlights
Remember what you read! Highlighted makes it easy to scan, highlight, organize and revisit your favorite lines and paragraphs from physical books. This is achieved with best-in-class text recognition, smart sentence and paragraph recognition, custom tags and notes, and drag-and-drop selection (on iPad). It also offers a powerful search tool, ISBN scanning, and a dark mode.
Pixel Pro
What do you get when you combine amazing nostalgic graphics with the exciting, pong-like sport of tennis? Pixel Pro! This arcade game has unique and simple touch controls to play tennis with the pros in no time. It has both quick matches and a challenging career mode with over 40 beautiful arenas and 250 opponents.
