Mark Zuckerberg promises “major updates”to Horizon Worlds to improve the quality of graphics. Avatars, in particular, should be much more detailed and vibrant.
Mark Zuckerberg said the Meta will be getting “major upgrades”to its virtual reality (VR) graphics soon. The announcement comes after the release of a VR avatar image of themselves, which has been widely criticized for its quality. Menlo Park explained that it will share more details about the upcoming changes at the next Connect conference.
Mark Zuckerberg Promises ‘Major Updates’ to Horizon Worlds
The Meta CEO’s announcement came just days after a screenshot of Horizon Worlds, the company’s social virtual reality environment, went viral on Twitter.
to improve graphics quality
The images were released last week, along with the announcement of the launch of Horizon Worlds in France and Spain. The screenshot in question shows a frankly very crude avatar of Mark Zuckerberg in front of the Eiffel Tower and the Sagrada Familia, reproduced in virtual reality. The image, of course, very quickly scattered across social networks, especially on Twitter, where users ridiculed the very “amateur” drawing. Many of them, in particular, wondered why Mark Zuckerberg’s avatar was so flat and lifeless when the company spent billions of dollars and staked much of its future on the success of the metaverse.

Although the Facebook boss did not directly respond to the criticism, he acknowledged that the image he previously shared was “pretty basic”and promised improvements. His latest post to date features two new, much brighter and more detailed renders: his avatar and a landscape with ancient ruins.
“I know the photo I posted a few days ago was pretty simple – it was taken very quickly to celebrate the launch,”Mark Zuckerberg wrote. “Horizon graphics could be a lot better – even on headsets – and Horizon is improving very quickly.”
