WMarvel World of Heroes, a Marvel game in Pokémon Go sauce. Of course, none other than Niantic. See you next year.
Video games follow each other. And similar, some would say. For others it doesn’t matter, the market is enough to make a place for themselves. Niantic has become a master in the art of creating augmented reality games. The studio’s worldwide success with Pokémon Go is a perfect example of this. We already suspected the huge potential of the concept. Here it will soon be applied to the Marvel Universe.
Marvel World of Heroes, Marvel game with Pokémon Go sauce
Marvel has indeed teamed up with Pokémon Go developer Niantic to develop an augmented reality mobile game. It should be available worldwide sometime next year. Marvel World of Heroes is the first time you’ll be able to create your own superhero in a Marvel game, according to a statement posted on the Niantic blog.
None other than Niantic, obviously
You can really create your character’s personality as well as his story. You will also have the goal of patrolling your entire area to prevent crime, accept missions and put an end to interdimensional threats and arrest supervillains. As you level up, you’ll unlock equipment and abilities. You will be able to team up with friends as well as famous characters such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Wolverine. It would also appear that players can also visit multiple alternate realities in the virtual sense of the word.
See you next year
If you are interested in the concept and the game itself, know that you can pre-register on the site dedicated to Marvel World of Heroes. As is often the case, Niantic will first launch the game in selected countries and then distribute it worldwide. Until then, we’ll have to wait and maybe watch the first content when it becomes available.
