Telecommunications giant Reliance Jio has teamed up with Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek to launch the Gaming Masters 2.0 esports event in India. The event will feature popular games including Krafton’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and is aimed at new and existing online gaming enthusiasts as well as professional gamers. The first iteration of the event took place in March of this year, and BGMI’s direct competitor, Garena Freefire, participated in it. 14,000 teams were registered for the first stage of the event, and the second season will begin on November 23, 2021. The total prize fund of Gaming Masters 2.0 is $17,000.
The Gaming Masters event has been formulated as a grassroots gaming event in India. Participants will access BGMI through the JioGames platform, which is available on their own Jio devices as well as other Android and iOS devices. The event usually consists of several stages and lasts almost a full quarter. There will also be a Play & Win Daily series that will allow players to earn daily rewards as well as play against BGMI professional teams for the “ultimate championship”.

Registration for the event will begin today, November 12, and the event will run from November 23 to January 10, 2021. Interested teams can register at https://play.jiogames.com and the event is open to both Jio and others. -Jio users. No participation fee is required to participate in the event.
Jio-MediaTek Gaming Masters 2.0 Event Schedule
There will be four qualifying rounds in total, with the first starting on November 23rd. It will last until November 27, and the second qualifying round is scheduled for November 30 – December 4 this year. The qualifying rounds will end by December 18th and the Road to the Finals will begin on December 21st.
Gio will also stream matches on JioGames Watch, JioTV HD Esports Channel, JioGames YouTube Channel and Facebook Gaming.
The first stage of the Gaming Masters tournament ended in March of this year, when Team Headhunters won $40,000 after a 70-day streak.
