PlayStation mobile app will make it easier to share screenshots

The PlayStation app will soon make it easier for you to share screenshots with cloud sync.

Game consoles today are much more than just gaming machines. A lot can be done, especially when it comes to social features. Some players like to share their sessions or at least some moments with others. This happens through live broadcasts or simple screenshot sharing. Unfortunately, sometimes the operation is not easy. Sony is going to make things easier with its PlayStation mobile app.

Taking screenshots while playing your favorite games on your Sony PS4 or PS5 is certainly doable and very easy. However, sharing these images is not easy. Sony is aware of this and hopes to make the process easier with an update to its PlayStation mobile app.

The operation is similar to something you might use on a daily basis, namely syncing your photos via the cloud. The principle is as follows: if you are logged into the same account as the console, the screenshots or videos that you take during your games will be synchronized via the cloud so that in a few minutes these files will appear in the console. application

From there, you can open the desired photo or video and share it with your loved ones or on your favorite social networks. Photo and video sharing will be possible, according to Sony, but videos must not be in 4K and be less than 3 minutes long. These files will also remain available on the PlayStation app for 14 days. To keep them longer, you will need to save them to your smartphone.

Sony also indicates that this new feature is available to users in America. Soon it will be available to all players, wherever they are. One final clarification, in case you’re wondering, you don’t need a PS Plus subscription to use this feature.
