Just a couple of years ago, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Mochi from iOS developer Sugiuta that aesthetically improved the music player on the lock screen. Not only was it naturally large and clunky at the time, it lacked the customization that jailbreakers knew and loved.
Today we are happy to show you the latest version of the above tweak, dubbed Mochi15, also created by Sugiuta, which provides comparable music widget enhancement features for jailbroken iOS and iPadOS 15 devices.
Like the original customization, Mochi15 makes the lock screen music player more customizable, opening up new aesthetic possibilities that would otherwise be unavailable on a standard device. Here are some examples:
- Changing the user interface of the music player
- Change the color of each button and label
- Changing the label scroll speed and interval
Once installed, Mochi15 adds a custom settings panel to the Settings app where you can customize various options to your liking:
Things you can do here include:
- Enable or disable Mochi15 on request
- Adjust the speed and interval settings using the slider
- Change blur type
- Enable or disable notifications
- Colorize background view
- Color the border of the image
- Colorize artist title and tags
- Color the Play, Pause, and Skip buttons.
- Colorize the time slider
- Colorize slider handle
- And more…
The respring button appears in the top right corner of the settings panel so you can save your changes on demand.
Sugiuta says Mochi15 is compatible with both iPhones and iPads as long as they’re running a jailbroken version of iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.7.1, but currently it only supports root jailbreak, with non-root support hopefully coming in the future.
If you want to try Mochi15 yourself, you can purchase it for $1.49 from the Havoc repository through your favorite package management app.
