Unknown Worlds Entertainment teamed up with Mistborn author Brandon Sanderson to create Moonbreaker.
In Moonbreaker, players will assemble a team consisting of a captain and 10 additional units. They must then attempt to defeat their opponents’ captain and lead their troops to victory by strategically using their ship’s support facilities, their crew composition, or their knowledge of the map. They can compete against other players online or participate in offline challenges. Apart from these skirmishes, the game also features a Cargo Run mode. It offers a single-player experience filled with procedurally generated AI-powered encounters, adding an almost “bagel”element to the new one from American studio Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
Moonbreaker – a declaration of love for a miniature artist
Every aspect of Moonbreaker has been designed to replicate the feel of playing with physical miniatures without the physical limitations. With detailed, intuitive and ever-improving drawing tools, players can customize their units like never before.
Mike Silbowitz, Sales Manager for Krafton USA, explains:
We offer a completely unique gaming experience that combines the depth of traditional miniature games with the convenience of modern video game technology. Our partners at Unknown Worlds Entertainment have a track record of making bold creative decisions, as evidenced by their success with the Subnautica and Natural Selection series, and we look forward to seeing Moonbreaker continue that tradition. The launch of the game in Early Access is just the beginning as we are excited to be able to support it with continued seasons and content updates.
Trailer for Moonbreaker
Inspired by games like Hearthstone and XCOM, as well as popular sci-fi franchises like Firefly and Guardians of the Galaxy, Moonbreaker will be available for early access on PC via Steam and Mac starting September 29th.
Charlie Cleveland, co-founder and game director of Unknown Worlds Entertainment, says:
Moonbreaker was born from a natural passion for miniature games that many of us share in the studio. Our goal with this game is to reduce the traditional barriers associated with physical and miniature games while retaining what makes this genre so special. After several years of development, we are excited to officially unveil Moonbreaker and look forward to working with the community to develop the game during Early Access.
