Motorola today announced the world’s first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC, the Moto Edge X30. Along with the Edge X30, Motorola has released another flagship called the Moto Edge S30. The Motorola Edge S30 is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888+ chipset and has up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with a 108MP triple rear camera and a 5000mAh battery. Moto Edge S30 Price and Availability
The Moto Edge S30 comes in four storage options – 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. The 6GB + 128GB base model Edge S30 is priced at 1999 Yuan, while the 8 + 128GB variant is priced at 2199 Yuan. While the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at 2399 yuan, while the top-end 12+256GB variant is priced at 2599 yuan.
As for the initial offer, the brand is offering a discount of up to 200 yuan on all variants of the device. Pre-orders for it will begin on December 12, and the phone will officially go on sale on December 21 in China.
Moto Edge S30 Specifications and Features
The Moto Edge S30 features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. The display supports 144Hz refresh rate, 576Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+. Its thickness is 8.89 mm and its weight is about 202 grams.
The Moto Edge S30 features a Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It adopts a tri-cluster architecture consisting of a 3.0GHz super core, a 2.4GHz large Cortex A78 core, and a 1.8GHz energy-efficient Cortex A55 core. For video and graphics tasks, it uses an Adreno 660 GPU. The device boots using Motorola’s own My UI 3.0 based on Android 11.
The Moto Edge S30 features a 108MP triple rear camera setup, a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16 MP front camera in the center of the display.
It is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP52 splash resistance, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 support, MIMO Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4GHz/5GHz) support, and more.
