  1. Open the Multiverse.
  2. Then click the orange Play button at the bottom center.
  3. Here, go to the custom tab by double-clicking RB or R1.
  4. The first option on the left will be “Local Play”.
  5. Click here.
  6. Now you can play up to 4 players.

But it works if you have 4 players ready. If you would like to play with fewer players or in match mode, you can do so by changing the match settings. It also allows you to make other changes to the match such as changing rounds, times, etc.

  1. To change the match settings, click on the book icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. This will open the match settings.
    • Here are the options you can change.
      • Game mode: There are 3 game modes.
        • Teams (2v2)
        • 1 vs 1
        • Free for everyone
      • Ringouts: allows you to define the number of Ringouts after which a player is eliminated. Here are the options you get for this:
        • 1
        • 2
        • 3
        • 4
      • Time: time limit until the end of the match. You get the following options for it:
        • 2 minutes
        • 2.5 min.
        • 3 minutes
        • 5 minutes
        • 7 minutes
        • 15 minutes
        • Unlimited
      • Finally, you can enable or disable hazards.

It’s best if you’ve connected all the players’ controllers before fiddling with the settings. Since this can prevent problems with non-recognition of controllers.
