MultiVersus: The best characters to unlock first from each class

There are 17 characters in MultiVersus, but knowing which ones are best to unlock first can be very rewarding. Of these 17 characters, 4 are already directly playable, so you only need to worry about unlocking 13 characters. And to make things easier for you, we’ve listed 5 fighters from each class that you must first unlock in MultiVersus.

Best characters to unlock in MultiVersus

You should start by unlocking the character you like to play the most by trying it out in training. If you don’t have character preferences, choose the following characters:

  • Arya Stark: Assassin
  • Batman: Bruiser
  • Wonder Woman Tank
  • Tom and Jerry: Mage / Ranged
  • Reindog: Support

Let’s check why you should unlock them over others.

Arya Stark

The third child of Eddard and Catelyn Stark is the second best assassin in the game. While the best killer is still Harley Quinn, you should unlock Arya if you don’t like Harley. You can also go with Finn, but Arya is better in my opinion. She has some really powerful moves that you can combine with basic attacks.

Knife throwing is a move you can use to make some crazy recoveries. One moment you fall out of the ring and the next moment you are back on stage. And even if you don’t consider using it as a recovery step. You can use Throw at an enemy to quickly charge at them. She also has a special ability called Face Stealer which allows her to steal the faces of her enemies, allowing her to stun them. And to add insult to injury, she taunts opponents like the fighter she stole the face from. Combine them with her other moves and you can deal a lot of damage to your opponents.

You can unlock it for 3000 Gold or 700 Glymium.

Batman

Batman is definitely a fighter you’ll want to unlock. As long as you have other options like LeBron, Jake and Garnet. Their abilities don’t quite match those of Batman. Caped Crusader’s two most notable attacks include Smoke Bomb and Bat Bomb.

The smoke bomb can be very scary for opponents, as it not only slows them down, but also makes Batman invulnerable for a short time. It also adds limited buffs to allies, such as projectile evasion and invisibility. And speaking of the Bat Bomb, you can attach it to your opponents to launch them into the air after a delay. Now combine these special attacks with your normal attacks and you have a deadly character. Ironic, because Batman doesn’t kill.

You can unlock Batman for 2000 Gold or 700 Glomium.

amazing woman

While the best tank in the game might be Superman, we recommend Wonder Woman. The biggest reason is that you unlock it for free after completing the tutorial. But that would be pretty stupid if that was all she had. And you can bet that’s not the only reason you should unlock her first.

Let’s start with the fact that it is ideal for practicing a Tank class character. Tanks are damage sponges designed to deal damage to the team. Next, she has some really interesting specials. Her special side effect is called Warrior Charge, and as the name suggests, she dashes forward with her shield raised. Any projectiles that hit her during the attack are destroyed. And she can also give armor to allies she passes. Then you have “Protection of the Gods”, this special places the “Protection”buff on yourself and your teammate. And finally, she can also use her Lasso of Truth to pull enemies and teammates towards her. This can be used in interesting ways to catch a falling teammate.

You will unlock Wonder Woman after completing the tutorial.

Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry is the best mage/ranged fighter in the game. Yes, a fighter and not fighters, even though they are two characters, you control them as one. While this sounds confusing, it’s not as confusing as you might think. Tom and Jerry is recommended if you really want to spice up your game. He has the most unique gameplay when compared to other characters. Some of his notable specials are Snap Trap, Look Out Below, and Rocket Mouse.

Let’s start with Rocket Mouse, in this volume attaches a rocket to Jerry and uses him as a projectile. Speaking of projectiles, in Special Look Out Below, Tom throws a stick of dynamite. It explodes on contact with an enemy or on the second bounce. And Snap Trap is when Tom sets up a mouse trap that damages opponents when they trigger it, and if a Cheese Buff teammate steps on it, it just increases its power.

You can unlock Tom and Jerry for 3000 Gold or 700 Glymium.

raindog

When you talk about support characters, not many players prefer them. But you’d be surprised how useful they can be when used properly and with a teammate. And one of those characters is Raindog, in fact he is a fighter created specifically for this game, unlike the rest of the characters from some other universes.

As a beginner, you should find these special moves very helpful. Flounce Pounce is a basic jump forward attack. His aerial version of the Fireworks Master, which is a spinning forward attack. Flying Floop, which turns the Reindog into a ball that your teammates can choose to shoot at you at the enemy. And finally, there is the Power Crystal. This move summons a power crystal that strikes enemies with lightning and gives them an electrical debuff, and allies it hits receive an electrical buff.

You can unlock Reindog for 2000 Gold or 700 Gleamium.

Again, these characters are just some guidelines, the really best characters to unlock first in MultiVersus are the ones you enjoy playing with. So go into training mode in The Lab and try out different characters to decide if the character you are about to unlock is really worth it or not.

That covers this guide to the best MultiVersus characters to unlock first.
