Finally under-screen Face ID on the Apple iPhone 15?

Under screen camera for iPhone 15? This is what The Elec understands.

Every year, new generations of our electronic devices are equipped with new, more or less innovative features. In the smartphone market, we expect, in particular, improvements regarding the screen, or rather the ability to hide the photo / video module under the screen, so that the front side is as uniform as possible. This can happen with iPhone 15.

Under screen camera for iPhone 15?

The Apple iPhone currently offers an edge-to-edge display on three sides. However, there is a cutout at the top of the device that houses the front-facing camera and the TrueDepth camera system used for face identification. This design was controversial, with some seeing it as a success, others far less successful. However, the latter may still evolve from the iPhone 15.

Logically, the iPhone 15 should see the light of day during 2023. According to a report by The Elec, it is possible this year that the Cupertino-based company will introduce Face ID under the screen. This will mean that the iPhone 15 can finally offer a front panel completely dedicated to the screen, without any notches or perforations, elements that spoil the user experience and design, it must be admitted.

This is what Elec thinks he knows

However, the apple brand should continue to bite the screen with the iPhone 14, but according to the latest rumors to date, the Cupertino-based company decided this year to ditch the notch in favor of an oblong punch. Even more intrusive, of course, but more compact than a cutout. Other manufacturers such as Samsung have been using this type of punch for several years now, so nothing new.

We’ve also seen some Android device makers experiment with an under-screen camera module, but the fact is that this technology isn’t popular yet. The reason for this, most likely, is the quality of the received frames. In any case, we are still far from the end of 2023, a lot can happen in that time. To be continued!
