Hogwarts Legacy: The Talent System Explained

The talent system in Hogwarts Legacy will have a huge impact on your gameplay. Since this game has an RPG element, you will be able to create your preferred build and upgrade it. Wandering through the corridors of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you will encounter many problems. In addition to your trusty spells, your abilities will determine the outcome of these trials. If you’re wondering how this system will be implemented in Hogwarts Legacy, then you’ve come to the right place. This guide will tell you everything you need to know.

How talent works in Hogwarts Legacy

In Legacy of Hogwarts, talents will improve your character’s skills and abilities. These include your spells, potion brewing, movement, and more. There are a total of 50 talents in the game, divided into five categories. Here are the categories and how they affect your game:

Basic

These talents increase the overall effectiveness of your character. This can include your spells, movement speed, maximum health, and more. What’s more, there are 17 upgrades to unlock in this category, making it the highest among the five.

stealth

They improve your abilities in stealth mode. As shown in the gameplay, you can turn invisible and sneak up on your enemies. Potential improvements would be the amount of time you can remain invisible, movement speed while crouching, etc.

Requirements room

The Room of Requirement was an important part of the Harry Potter universe and it continues to be in the Hogwarts Legacy. According to the revealed gameplay, you can brew potions in the Room of Requirement. Thus, upgrading talents in this category will affect your potion brewing abilities.

The last two categories have not yet been disclosed. You’ll most likely see them when the game releases on February 10th. However, we can make some assumptions about what they will be.

One category features a wizard holding a wand. So this category will most likely be based on spells. Another category of mysteries features a hooded wizard. So this category can be based on Gear and its benefits.

How to improve talents

To improve them, you will need to earn talent points. These are special currencies that can be earned by completing quests. In addition, you can participate in many side quests to earn them.
