Don’t rely (too much) on the Google Pixel Watch to wake up on time.

The Pixel Watch has trouble waking you up on time, a bug that Google has yet to fix.

The best alarm clock in the world is probably the one you wear on your wrist. The smartwatch can wake you up softly instead of with terrible noise, allowing you to enjoy quieter mornings without forcing the alarm sound on others. But whichever device is used for this, it is expected to ring at the specified time. Unfortunately, this is not necessarily the case for the Google Pixel Watch.

Pixel Watch struggles to wake you up on time

According to 9to5Google, Pixel Watch owners have noticed that their alarms go off late, and in some cases even earlier. According to users, the delay is not very large, it ranges from one to ten minutes and seems to affect the alarms set for the morning. So the most plausible theory for this bug would be that the Pixel Watch is having trouble waking up from sleep, preventing it from waking up exactly at the minute you choose.

Regardless of the cause of the problem, Pixel Watch cannot set the alarm to the correct time. However, you should be able to trust your alarm when you set it. Otherwise, what’s the point? If you need to set an alarm on your Pixel Watch for 6:50 instead of 7am to make up for the clock going off a few minutes later, what’s the point?

A bug that Google hasn’t fixed yet

This response delay has not yet exceeded 10 minutes, but can we be sure that it will not worsen? Maybe one day the delay will reach 20 minutes, or an hour, or maybe the alarm will not work at all. You set your alarm for 7 am but it rings at 8 am and you are late. It’s best not to trust your Pixel Watch too much so that it doesn’t wake you up.

Until Google releases an official patch, and until you install it, it’s better to use a different method for your alarms. There are enough opportunities for this, especially on smartphones.
