The Stranger Things universe continues to expand. Netflix recently announced an animated series based on one of the most popular licenses to date. The streaming company hasn’t revealed many details about this new spin-off series project, but Glitch Techs and Fanboy & Chum Chum creator Eric Robles and Flying Bark Productions will be hard at work on this series. Also involved are the Duffer Brothers, creators of Stranger Things and original series producer Shawn Levy.

“We have always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the spirit of the cartoons we grew up with and loved so much. Seeing this dream come true is absolutely breathtaking,”the Duffer Brothers said in a statement to Variety. “We are incredibly blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have achieved – the scripts and artwork are amazing and we can’t wait to share the new experience with you! The adventure continues…”

The original series has been renewed for a fifth and final season, but this series and the upcoming animated series are far from the only projects in the Stranger Things universe currently in development. The VR game is due to launch later this year, with the prequel set to launch in London’s West End later this year. Netflix also announced a live-action spin-off series last year.

The project involves the brothers Duffer and Shawn Levy.

Meanwhile, the Duffer brothers are also quite busy. Along with their Stranger Things projects, they are working on the Death Note series, which will be the sequel to the live-action film released on Netflix a few years ago, as well as an adaptation of the book The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub.
