Nothing Phone (1) uses the OnePlus One route, which is said to go on sale via an invite system initially

The Nothing Phone (1) launch event will take place on July 12th. The company has confirmed several key features and details about its first smartphone. The design of Nothing Phone (1) sets it apart from most smartphones on the market. Apart from the design, the Snapdragon processor is also confirmed in the phone. The Geekbench listing has revealed that it is a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC.

While the company creates a lot of buzz online about features, buying a phone (1) might not be that easy. Nothing will go the way of OnePlus and make their device available for purchase through the invite system.

The company confirmed the details in a new teaser uploaded to its YouTube channel and other social media accounts. In the video at 13:20, Nothing confirmed that his smartphone would be available for purchase through the invite-only system. He wants the community members — those who have been with the company from the beginning — to get their hands on the device first.

Carl Pei’s former company OnePlus took a similar approach from the start when it sold the OnePlus One through an invite-only system. Those who had an invitation could not only buy the device, but also share a couple more invitations with their friends and family.

The invite-only system also helps a company (Nothing in this case) ensure it doesn’t stockpile by producing more units than required. The way you are available will also help keep you high a little longer.

As soon as the company manages to increase production, the device will become available for purchase by more and more people.
