Nothing Phone (1) is confirmed to launch later this year. During an event in March 2022, company founder Carl Pei confirmed that its first smartphone will be called Phone (1) and will launch in the summer, meaning the phone could arrive sometime in July, August or September. Ahead of the phone’s launch, to provide some insight into the software, Nothing Launcher was released on the Google Play Store last week for select select Samsung and Google Pixel phones.
While we’ve seen the concept design of the phone and some rumors about the upcoming phone in the past, a new leak has revealed the full specs and details of the Nothing Phone (1). Let’s take a closer look at the leaked specs of the phone.
Nothing Phone (1) Specifications Leaked
According to Twitter whistleblower Ragvendra Singh Jadon, who shared a few screenshots of the phone’s specs, the device will come with an AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel main camera and, as the company itself previously confirmed, the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. The screenshots are taken from the Nothing Phone 1: User Manual e-book currently hosted on the Amazon India website.
Based on this book and tweet, Nothing Phone (1) is reported to feature a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10 content. Under the hood, the device is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 778G SoC clocked at up to 2.4GHz. The device is speculated to offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, although we may see multiple RAM and storage options for the device.
In addition, the phone is said to have a 50MP main camera, an 8MP secondary camera that could be an ultra-wide angle, and a 2MP camera that is likely a depth or macro lens. For selfies, the device is said to have a 32-megapixel camera. In the power department, the device is said to pack a 4,500mAh lithium polymer battery with support for wireless charging, as well as support for reverse wireless charging. But the charging speed of the device is still a mystery. Finally, the phone will run Android 12 with a Nothing OS skin on top.
