Another developer appears to be taking advantage of TrollStore for iOS devices and iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1 beta 4 to fiddle with settings on those operating systems that can’t normally be configured without a jailbreak. The latest attempt was made with the new Cardio app by cisc0disco.
Cardio has nothing to do with your heart health, but it has everything to do with your Apple Pay cards. This app allows the end user to change the images displayed for Apple Pay credit and debit cards, effectively mimicking one of the main features of the popular Sydney jailbreak tweak we showed you back in May.
Cardio certainly doesn’t offer as many features as Sydney, but considering how it can be installed and used on devices running iOS 15.0-15.1.1 without being jailbroken via the TrollStore, we’d say it’s pretty damn impressive.
When you open the Cardio app, you can view any of the available Apple Pay cards and tap on them to set them up. By swiping you can move between different maps, and by clicking on them you can select a different image to use as the background of the map.
There isn’t much more to say here as Cardio is a particularly simple app, but if you like the idea of setting custom card backgrounds without having to do it manually through Filza, then this is a great way to simplify the process.
It’s worth noting that some users with various device types and firmware versions have turned to /r/jailbreak to report a glitch in the initial release of v1.0, but this doesn’t seem to affect everyone and we expect this glitch to be resolved. in a future update.
Those who want to learn more about Cardio or try it out can head over to the GitHub developer page.
